James trained in fine art in Florence and Bath. He has been a freelance artist since leaving Art School in 1973.

The paintings reflect a lifelong interest in landscape and abstract art. They are made on paper, board and canvas, using acrylics, oil pastels and charcoal. James also accepts commissions.
